Children should be able to begin to respect and care for living things and investigate their environment in a variety of ways. Opportunities to develop these skills can be developed through water and sand play, construction and the children’s own daily routines.
- The children at the nursery are taught about being kind to the world around us and nature.
- We go on adventures into the park and look at the flowers, animals and talk about different types of homes.
- Computers are used to find out more about the world around us using a digital microscope to look closely at things. We have an interactive whiteboard where we can watch short clips in a bakery and we go on many adventures.
- We introduce the children to other cultures and traditions and have a collection of objects from around the world and talk about what we do and what other people do in other countries.
